Creating unique and personalized portraits for my seniors is one of the best things about what I get to do. It’s especially fun when high school seniors have decided on which college they’re going to attend and want to showcase it during their session.
Since this is one of the most exciting times of a senior’s life, what’s better than celebrating the next chapter by including your upcoming college memorabilia and gear?
Of course, your senior portraits will be included on your custom graduation cards announcing where you’re planning to attend college!
Here a few ideas on how to incorporate and showcase your college during your session.
#1. Order your college pendant or flag! Even better if you can find a vintage one. This is a fun way to include your college and it gives you something to hold. Start early and order it in advance.
#2. Include your acceptance banner. Many students receive an acceptance banner as a keepsake but why not use it during your senior portraits? Throw it in and will include it in a few portraits.
#3. Grab your college T-shirt, sweatshirt or hoodie and consider ordering a new one for your session to insure that the colors are new, bold and bright! For girls, consider getting the women’s fitted shirt as these are flattering and eliminate bulky fabric. Long sleeve T-shirts or athletic shirts are also an awesome option that are classy.
#4. Bring college hats, caps and jewelry. Consider a few of these to include in your shots. Cute college earrings along with a baseball cap make creative accessories for your session.
#5. Include your college hand sign if they have one! Make sure you research your college's hand sign and the proper way to use it so you can include it in a few of your portraits!
