Senior Guy Portraits – Where to Start? What to Wear?
Overwhelmed a bit about senior portraits? I'm here to guide you through the process. Once we have a date secure, we will schedule a time to meet via zoom and go over all the details, outfits and locations. Here's a few details to help when planning senior guy outfits.
We kick off with your most formal outfit at Delynn Photography. Whether it’s a full suit and tie, a jacket with a button-down, or even slacks paired with a crisp shirt, the more dressed up, the better. These shots will give you options for professional headshots, which can be used for college applications or business profiles.
Classic Outfits
For a well-rounded gallery, choose pieces that are both classic and timeless. Opt for:
-
Crisp button-down shirts, slacks, suit/jacket
-
Polos with slacks or khakis
-
Well-fitted sweaters or long sleeve shirts with colors
Neutral colors like navy, white, gray, or earthy tones will keep the focus on you and photograph beautifully. Avoid overly trendy items that may date your photos in the future.
Layering
Layering adds depth and visual interest. Consider layering with:
- A stylish jacket
- A fitted blazer
- A classic cardigan
This creates multiple looks in one session and adds dimension to your portraits.
Accessories
Less is more when it comes to accessories. A simple watch can elevate your look without being too distracting. If you have a family heirloom watch, consider wearing it for a personal touch that adds a unique story to your images.
Shoes
Don’t underestimate the power of a good pair of shoes! Choose clean, polished shoes that complement your outfits. Avoid shoes that are too worn, and consider bringing an extra pair just in case.
By following these simple guidelines, you’ll be well-prepared to look and feel your best for your senior portrait session.
